AN ENCOURAGING WORD ON GIVING

Pastor Richard Schofield  shared how the Lord woke him up and all he could think about was the roof and offerings and then how he was impressed to read a book recommended by his wife, Diane.

The following are THE SIMPLE SECRETS of ACHIEIVING GAURANTEED FINANCIAL SUCCESS from a book by Pastor Robert Morris:

o   Something must be blessed before it can be multiplied. In other words it must be given to God first.

o   Only what is given away can multiply. The TITHE is simply giving back to the Lord what He says is His. Giving our first fruits – our first 10% to the Lord is what causes that which is ours to be blessed. You can’t give away what is not yours to give. The first fruits are the Lord’s. The rest is yours to keep or to give as you choose. It is from this account that give what the Bible often refers to as OFFERINGS.

o   Tithing isn’t really giving. It is bringing back to the Lord what is already His. The tithe is what brings the blessing on the balance of your finances. It is the foundation on which our giving is built.

o   Tithes and offerings removed the curse. Tithes and offerings bring blessings. God can cause our finances to go further than  we could ever cause them to go by our own cleverness of diligence. Give to God and let Him control it!

When you obey God’s word you will SOW and your will REAP!

Encouraging Scriptures on GIVING…

Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine.” (Proverbs 3:9-10)

“Then all Judah brought the tithe of the grain and the new wine and the oil to the storehouse.” (Nehemiah 13:12)

“Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.” (Malachi 3:7-10)

Every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of the Lord your God that he has given you.” (Deuteronomy 16:17)

… make sure the gift you promised is ready. But I want it to be a willing gift, not one given grudgingly. Remember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop. You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully. And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others.” (2 Corinthians 9:5-9)

Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom.” (Luke 6:38)
