CALLED TO BE AN INFLUENCE

“Lord make us influential, to be influential people; to influence others and touch others’ lives – to please You!”

Let’s dare to be more than imaginable! May the very words we speak, and sing bring light to the world.  So often, many that come to Hope Centre say that they had driven past the church. We want them to be arrested in their tracks as they drive by and to come and see the beauty of the Lord!

Jesus said that we are “the salt of the earthand “the light of the world!” (Matthew 5: 13,14) He also said, “Go into all the world and preach the Gospel…” (Mark 16:15).

Pastor Jerry shared how during his conversion experience the Lord showed him how much He loved him; but also, He was revealing to him how much He loved the whole world (John 3:16). It is not God’s desire that any perish but that everyone come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9).

We are to be influencers! We realize that it is not easy; we have to make decisions on everything we do.  We should make strategic prayers dealing with conditions we are now in!

God is teaching us to recognize His presence, His power and His supernatural love. HE IS HERE – for all situations.   There is not one thing He will not do for us – into a full functioning reality of the goodness of God in the land of the living. He will mold us together as a team.

The Book of Acts reveals the heart of the Apostle Paul. Before his conversion (known as Saul) had Christians persecuted and killed! Jesus meets him on the Damascus Road and asks him, “Saul, why are you doing this to Me?” Jesus knew his name! Jesus, who is love, sees Saul as an influencer!

I encourage you to meditate on the following scriptures this week from Colossians 3:12-17 and Colossians 4:2-6 during your personal prayer timeIs... on being an influencer...

“Therebefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. 13 Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. 14 And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity."

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. 16 Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.

And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father." (Colossians 3:12-17)

“Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains

Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.” (Colossians 4:2-6)

How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! “(1 John 3:1)
