PRAYER THAT CHANGES EVENTS

Highlights from a message by Pastor John Keating on PRAYER - Aug 21

I am convinced that God has a plan for new Minas, for the Valley area and this church is to be a part of it.   (Pastor John shared about a dream he had: a wild fire started here and spread throughout the Valley.)  We are privileged to have Gpd’s plan in our hearts.  He is using us and PRAYER is a vital part.  God is causing us to press in to a deeper level that change things.

Exodus 17:8-13 is an example of PRAYER THAT CHANGED EVENTS…

After Moses and the Israelites had already crossed the Red Sea.  The Amalekites came and attacked the Israelites.  Joshua did as Moses commanded him and went out to fight the Amalekites. As long as Moses held up his arms, Joshua prevailed, but when he put his arms down, the Amalekites started winning. 12 When Moses' arms grew tired, Aaron and Hur brought a stone for him to sit on, while they stood beside him and held up his arms, holding them steady. In this way Joshua totally defeated the Amalekites.

Our call in battle is to tear down strongholds over this area. The Church must also unite for victory over strongholds in our own lives.  We all need to hold one another’s hands up to win the battle. We can’t be like the 10 spies who had an evil heart of unbelief that God would do what He already showed that He could do.  As a result, it took them 40 years to come into the land.

We have to pray – power upon power! We are the Bride of Christ and sons and daughters of God.  This speaks of intimacy. There is no intimacy if we don’t talk!  We have to have intimacy with God.  We are ALL called to be involved and to PRAY.
